I‘ve just read an excellent and cogent overview of bloat. A condition that can affect basset hounds, and something we warn all our puppy buyers about.
Please take ten minutes to read Jennifer Kaiser’s excellent overview of the condition. It’s probably the most nuanced work on bloat I’ve read online yet.

Hi Jon – I was just looking around your wonderful blog and some howl I missed this posting. I want to add a link to my sub-blog on BLOAT. After you read it you can decide if you want to keep it here. At the very bottom of my sub-blog there is a quick guide check list link that anyone can print out and tape inside of a kitchen cabinet for easy guidelines to follow. Plus while you are waiting for you pop corn to pop you and look it over from time to time!
