Bernard, The Return

12 week old pups looking for the right home

'Can I lie down now?'

'Can I lie down now?'

Bernard’s been a bit poorly of late, as some of you may know. He had to go in for a biopsy yesterday. Although we don’t have all the results yet it looks better than we first thought. His tonsils have been giving him gip.

I took this picture of Bernard on the door step. He’s currently sleeping at my feet.

Can anything look more mournful than a Basset? Even when they’re happy! Fingers crossed for Bernard from the Ridley gang.

Sometimes I can discern a smile on Tia or Winnie’s face as they tear through the forest near where I live!

Happy thoughts to Bernard from us as well! He’s really a handsome gentleman, and you can really see Cornelius in him. He’s tucked up in his bed now – he’s had a pretty active day, “running” (it really looks like he’s smiling when he does that) and jumping around exploring his new garden.

@ Annette & Anders
Thank you. He’s doing okay after the biopsy. A bit sore still but he “told” George and Cloe off for being mischievous so I think he’s feeling better. He’s been out in the sunshine a bit today but no walks, just a potter in the garden.

Yes, I can see a lot of him in Cornelius. Except Cornelius has Aggie’s front legs and big feet.

From us aswell: Happy thoughts and well wishes to Bernard. The wonderful hound who (with a little help from his pack) convinced us that basset was a breed for us!

@Susanne & Brick,
Thanks you guys. Bernard’s doing better but we’re still waiting for some news from the vet. They really take care of him at Vallentuna Djurklinik.
