A roguish tale of a life loving dogs

I read a lot of dog books. Stacks of them. Swedish, English, Norwegian. You name it, I’ve probably read it (or it’s on my list).

I really enjoyed British actor Martin Clune’s rambling account of his love of dogs. Although it didn’t tell me anything new about the origin of dogs or dog psychology, I really appreciated sharing Martin’s joy of dogs.

Known best as an actor, he’s also an excellent raconteur and at times the book is laugh-out-loud funny.

The main tension in the book –can Martin’s Mary form a happy pack with his two other dogs– gives the book plenty of drama, but it is far from its central focus.

I couldn’t help be slightly envious of Martin’s ability to travel around the world whilst someone else takes care of his pack, but that’s the reality of him being a very famous British actor I suppose.
