Ann-Britt sent some lovely pics of Tilda, who is now 1.5 years old. What a sweet girl! I love the expression on her face. She really reminds me of her Bernard, her father, but with the colouring of Aggie.

Thank you Ann-Britt for taking such wonderful care of my lovely girl and giving her a great home!

She’s doing very well and weighs in at 28 kg. She’s quite a big girl like her mother, Aggie, but more agile I think.

The World’s Best Cora

Elsa sent me some lovely pictures of Cora to coincide with the pups’ birthday last week. Oh, how happy I was!

Cora is doing incredibly well, Elsa tells me, and is the pride of the farm. Apparently she tears about continually and is as sharp as a needle.

A bit like her brother George then, who has come back to Kennel Björkwood for a holiday. But more of George later. Here are the pics of Cora. Gorgeous.

Happy Birthday Pups !

It’s one year ago today that Aggie had her pups. It was a very stressful day for me because initially she just wouldn’t go into labour and she had to have a C-section. Her calcium levels were so low we were all very concerned and for a while it looked like the pups were in danger. But thankfully the surgeon at Arninge managed to get the pups out in time before there were any more complications.

Aggie was a wonderful mum, really looking after her pups with a care and gentleness that surprised me because she can be a bit of a grouch sometimes.

Looking back, I have many wonderful memories. These pups really won my heart over and I still think of them a lot.

Thanks to Anders and Annette who sent on birthday pics of my lovely Cornelius. He looks stunning and in wonderful condition. To think I had to dash with him to the vet at two weeks when he had a lung infection and it looked very touch and go for a while. I sat up with him for 36 hours, watching his every move.

Jill is poorly so George, my special George, has come home for a little holiday. And on his birthday too. I can’t believe how he looks so much like Aggie. I’ll post photos soon. He’s currently snuggling in the dog basket with Tia.
I’ll post any other pictures that come in to celebrate the pups being 1 year old today.

'Remember when we were pups?'

Great news from Ann-Britt today. Tilda did well again at a show down south. Ann-Britt writes:
Tilda hon blev BIRvalp med Hp och fick denne kritik:
“Supercharmig tikvalp,vackert huvud,utmärkta ögon , öron.
Vacker hals , bra rygg.
Härlig kropp , utmärkt benstomme ,bra vinklar , rör sig med fria lätta steg , trevligt temperament.”

As an added plus she got to meet up with her brother George (Caliban). Here’s a gorgeous shot of the two of them reacquainting themselves with each other.

Now where did Emrik go?

Many thanks to Maria, Ove and Emrik for sending over news about Margrét’s favourite boy, Claudius from the C-litter.

The pup that was so very small has become a big boy now. I remember holding him in my hand just after he was born. He was so very tiny – but now look at him!

Claudius is doing very well on Gotland and seems to be enjoying himself mucking about with Piff (the cat) and Emrik, his best friends. What a lucky chap.

Cora the Swimming Basset

Cora takes a breather for a moment

I was so thrilled to receive pictures of Cora from Elsa today. My goodness, doesn’t my girl look like her mummy? I can’t believe how much she looks like Aggie.

Cora is so unlike Aggie when it comes to personality, from what Elsa says, because she loves to swim and tear around the farm. Agsie, as anyone who knows her will tell you, is probably the laziest basset there is.

It sounds to me like she picked up her playful nature from hanging out with Winnie and Tia before she moved south with Elsa. Now they’re two basset hound girls who love to romp around in the forest for hours.
