After we got back from Kista Mässa and the show this morning we did some work laying tiles in the dog room. Still, even pups need to get out and play. Clothilde and George decided to jump all over Leifur just for the fun of it. Well, it is Easter!
Clothilde was meant to be leaving yesterday but unfortunately the people who were lined up to purchase her didn’t have enough money in the end. These things happen, I suppose! I’m therefore still looking for the right home for both Clothilde and Caliban. Caliban (affectionately known as George) is a very determined, loving little boy [...]
So it was a heavy heart I waved Cornelius goodbye today. Well, not too heavy because I’m sure he’s going to have a wonderful time at his new home. And he deserves it because he’s a real softie. Still, I’ll miss him an enormous amount because Cornelius has been a special boy at Kennel Björkwood. [...]
Apologies for the picture quality but here are Clothilde, Cornelius and Caliban (George) pottering about the garden this morning. Just something to make you smile.
It’s my thirty-ninth birthday today. The woofs howled me awake at 05:30 obviously wanting to wish me a happy birthday. It’s funny, they usually sleep until 8, if not 8:30 but on special occasions, Christmas and whenever someone important comes to stay they do this. This to my mind is typical basset behaviour. We also [...]
Following up on yesterday’s post I couldn’t resist this picture. Here’s Frodo truly in his element, confounding basset puppies. Apparently Cornelius is being penciled in for cat patrol duty up in Sundsvall when he gets there. On this evidence, he won’t be measuring up.
Anyone who has walked the bassets with me will probably be able to tell you all about Frodo, our cat. He likes to follow along, checking everything is okay. From time to time he also likes to wind the woofs up and tease them. With Coco and Cornelius heading off to their new homes next [...]
Caliban is a bit under the weather today with a poorly tummy. It’s probably a reaction to the snow that’s falling outside the window. He wants sunshine, just like me, and a chance to explore the garden.
…and then an after lunch stroll Here are a couple of pictures from the weekend. Chester and Claudius have now gone off to their new homes as has Cosmo.
Cornelius loved playing with Cosmo. They were great buddies. Perhaps the closest in the litter. Without Cosmo Cornelius seems a bit lost. Still, he managed to wolf down his breakfast this morning. Claudius has been chewing at his ear and Clothilde jumping all over him as if to cheer him up.
